I will never be an anything other than average. I am, like a lot of people, good at a somethings, bad at other things and some things I’m just Meh…..And I am done feeling bad about it.
Some people might find my life a complete bore and that’s fine but I know I’m not alone in feeling low sometimes because I will never be anything other than what I am and it’s for those and myself that I have started writing this blog.
So with that being said, here is a little glimpse into how I found myself writing about being an Average housewife.
While going through blog after blog researching I accidentally clicked on a link to a reddit question asked by a young Childfree woman who was worried about the idea of becoming a housewife (especially a Childfree one). Like me, her husband had been offered a job abroad and if she went with him she wouldn’t be permitted to work……In her mind a housewife was someone who spent the whole day doing nothing but cleaning, having gourmet meals ready on the table at five on the dot and all whilst having kids strapped to her ankles (your basic 1950’s housewife image).
I was quite concerned that the thought of “just being a housewife” scarred this young lady so much, as if it was such a bad thing, so I started searching for blogs that weren’t there to teach you how to be perfect at everything but just share and show that an average life doesn’t mean a boring one, I found a few nice ones but none written by someone who was Childfree….so here we are.
As for my goal…..firstly my goal is to use this blog as a personal diary for myself with the hope it will encourage me to try new things so I have something to be excited to write about (even if it goes wrong….in fact especially if it goes wrong) and in the long run I hope this blog will find it’s way to other like minded people and we can inevitably share our stories and encourage each other when life is getting us down.
Let’s face it, as average people we will always have those days when we feel not good enough…..well I say we are and I want to celebrate it.
